about

Artist Statement:

Currently, my practices are informed by research of kanyen’keha (Mohawk
language), embodied response to the land, and conscious and unconscious realms of
human life. They are informed by dreaming and Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk)
epistemology. My performances engage with liminality and are guided by compositions
illuminated with archival recordings, synthesis, and noise.

Project Statement:

I am visiting a place, I am visiting someone.
A place is visiting me, someone is visiting me.

The form of wakenatahronhátye was received during a hypnogogic experience.
In which I was directed to follow a non-linear structure when creating it. One that
flashes between various unconscious dimensions. When I visit these places, I am
visited by spirits, beings, and memories.
