The project consists of a soundscape, a parade of auditory memories and sceneries, kind of like what you hear in your head before you fall asleep, or like when phrases said by a friend randomly pop up in our minds momentarily, and fade into another auditory memory. Memories seem clear yet blurry, just like the sounds will seem clear yet blurry, which will be the main esthetic of the piece.
Concretely, the sound material consists of a collection of personal vocal diaries and “secretive” conversations from unusual and exclusive circumstances, combined with a ambient-noisescape.

Vivian Li (she/they) is a China-born, Montreal (Tio'tia:ke) based, classically trained pianist, currently studying electroaocustics and cinema at Université de Montréal. Her approach is focused on exploration and experimentation, blurring the lines between music and noise, art and banality. Believes that nothing is inherently ordinary, there is art in “non-art” and there’s music in “unstructured sounds”. Artistic or musical potentiality is embodied by all things, but it demands a certain sensibility to perceive it. Their works challenge the audience to develop this sensibility, to “see” , “hear” or “feel” this potential within our surrounding, within banality and ordinariness.
