This piece was created as a reflection of the ongoing impacts and colonial legacy of land destruction. Even with just 2.7% of old growth forest left in so called “bc”, the ideas of short term jobs and financial gain continue to devastate what little remains of these crucial ecosystems. The music was composed through the use of field recordings from Eden Grove, the synthesizers were all created using the sounds of thrushes, robins and the western screech owl. The voices of those that would lose their homes hidden from the reach of man's greed. A lament for the habitat lost, a lament for the future inheritance of these lands, a lament for our unbalanced relationship with the more than human worlds.
